USA Film Festival Hosts Screening of Florence Foster Jenkins

The USA Film Festival truly is a year long event, and this week they hosted a member screening of the new hit film Florence Foster Jenkins starring Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant and Simon Helberg.
Helberg is well known for his role on "The Big Bang Theory"and charmed the waiting list only crowd with stories about his cast members and some of the antics that happened during shooting. The crowd loved the film, and we are sure that it will be one fo the major hits of the Summer.

The 32nd Annual KidFilm Charms Dallas Film Audiences

The USA Film Festival has done it again - their 32nd annual KidFilm has been one of the best. It's so rewarding to see kids spending quality time with their families and enjoying the arts - I think this is one of our favorite events of the year.

The kids get so excited about film, reading actual books and getting to sing along with some of their favorite singers like Lisa Loeb - it's just a joy to watch. Her Nursery Rhyme Parade was a huge it.

What is the most amazing thing about this event is that it's free! The USA Film Festival sponsors like the Dallas Film Commission, Whole Foods and Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and many of the philanthropic Dallas families make it possible for all kids to enjoy great films.

As a Lifestylist® I am so grateful for the quality of programming the USA Film Festival brings to Dallas - now I can't wait for this year's Spring Festival!

Dallas Uncorked Goes To The Movies With Gary Cogill!

Dallas Uncorked raises a toast to the Oscars with a very special wine and movie event on February 8, 2015 starting at 6pm at Veritas Wine Room. The night will feature film producer, and former WFAA-TV film critic, Gary Cogill, for an interactive discussion of all the 2014 Academy Award nominated films.
Gary will also share some of his favorite stories of being on the set working with actors like Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman, and intriguing anecdotes of the 24 years as a film critic where he interviewed almost every actor in the world. A great movie and a tasty glass go hand in hand, and no one knows more about movies than Gary.
The night will benefit  Cafe Momentum, teaching critical social skills, along with training in the culinary arts, gardening, nutrition and horticulture, to Dallas youth in a safe, real-world environment of nurturing accountability.
Tickets will include a welcome glass of sparkling wine to toast the start of the evening, plus two glasses of specially selected wine at Veritas, light snacks, your Oscar ballot and, of course, a lively discussion of all the movies of the year. Dallas Uncorked is a 501c3 not for profit educational organization devoted to bringing informative, entertaining and unique wine events to our community, while benefiting charitable organizations around the city, and around the world.

The 42nd Annual USA Film Festival is a Wonderful Tribute

I've attended over 20 of the 42 annual USA Film Festivals, but I think this was one of the best. Not only did the well known guests such as Rob Reiner, Elliott Gould and Bert Gordon have amazing tributes, but other guests such as Kim Darby, Jenna Fischer, Christina Beck and many others charmed the crowds during their Question and Answer sessions and at the intimate patron parties after the films.
We've got a lot of catching up to do, but we wanted to share some of our favorite shots from the evening by Lifestylist® Suzanne Felber of Lisa Stewart Photography.

USA Film Festival Announces Schedule

Well, The USA Film Festival has done it again- we just received the program for the 42nd annual festival, and there isn't one film that I can't wait to see. This festival continues to not only have star power, but it also once again brings new actors and films to the Dallas area that promise to become rising stars.
This year Rob Reiner, Elliott Gould and Bert I Gordon will be honored and in attendance, and it is sounded like many of the screenings are going to be sold out shortly.
Membership in this organization does have it's rewards - besides getting invitations to many exclusive screenings over the year it also can give you access to reserved seating and private parties with the guests at some of the different membership levels. The Festival runs April 25-29, so if you aren't a member yet call the festival at: 214-821-FILM or visit the website at: for more membership information.
We will be interviewing many of the guests, so come back often to see why this continues to be THE film festival in Texas.

Why I love The Film Community

As a Lifestylist® I've always been interested in film and the film community. I've been fortunate enough to do some set design on a few commercials and go behind the scenes during a few filOne of the best things I ever did to meet more people like me that love films and the film community was to join the USA Film Festival - something I did many years ago. Being a member means that you get invited to great screenings and get to meet many of the filmmakers during the Spring Festival. Meeting some of the Hollywood legends that have attending the festival is a dream come true, but getting to spend time discussing the different films with up and coming filmmakers is an unbelievable opportunity. Here are a few of my favorite guests that I have had the chance to meet by being a member.

I'm looking forward to sharing some of my experiences here as well as discussing what's going on in the Dallas community.
